Hedgehog Class Spring Newsletter 2018Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to the Spring term in Hedgehog Class!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas break. We have a busy first half term planned and the topic web (see right) for this half term shows you our plan with the new topic for Spring term 'Chocolate'.
This half term we will have a science and geography focus and we look forward to sharing our learning with you so please do regularly check our class page on the school website for updates!
As a part of our Art work this half term, the children will be exploring the grounds of the school in search of nature so please provide your child with Wellies or spare shoes in a named bag. These can be kept at school for the half term if you wish.
We will still be doing PE on a Tuesday and Thursday this term. Please ensure that your child's kit is named. Please also check all jumpers and cardigans are named.
Homework will be continued to be handed out on a Thursday and collected the following Tuesday. I was very impressed with the hard work from the children regarding their homework last half term and thank you for your continued support with this.
Any support for readers is warmly welcome from 8.45 am to 9.30 am. Along with this, please ensure your child reads with you as often as possible. Children who read regularly make more progress in reading, spelling, writing, vocabulary acquisition and comprehension skills. Myself and Mrs Blakey do check reading records regularly so please ensure you note down any time your child reads for our records.
If you need to get in touch, you can catch either me before/after school or email the office: email@example.com
