NewStAnd 7th July 2017Dear Parents, Carers and Community
What an outstanding Sports Week we have had. The children experienced a range of sports including martial arts, swimming and tennis and many other sports. Many children were inspired to join new clubs in light of their new experiences. We now have a St. Andrew's CE Primary School Ladies Netball Team. The ladies, comprising of mums, played a netball match on Thursday afternoon.
Sports Day today was great fun and the children had a wonderful time. It was fantastic to see such a combined community effort. Thanks to parents who marshalled some of the track events; supplied and helped erect the gazebos and supported the whole event. The weather was wonderful and thanks to the PTFA for supplying extra refreshments. An enormous thank you to our sports leader Mrs. Sparks for organising everything this week and to the staff who have all been amazing as usual. Thanks too to Mrs Hole for helping us today.
Please note that there is a parents meeting on Thursday at 3.30 pm about mixed-age classes. A letter will be sent home about it on Monday. Texts have already been sent out to you all.
We have the Year Six play 'An Inspector Calls' coming up next week. Tickets available from the office.
I hope you have a safe and enjoyable weekend.

HOT SCHOOL MEALS
As parents you can access the deadline dates in several ways to ensure that you do not miss the deadline and that your child has the meal offered to them by the school. The deadline date is usually in the last week of every month but is open for ordering for weeks before this.
1. Go to our website and look under Parents - Parents information- Hot Lunches
Here is the link for this page
On this page you will find the link to Thornford School deadlines for the next three months.
2. Go to the Thornford Primary School website directly and see the deadline dates, link below:
See our newsletter and deadline on our Facebook Group which echoes what is published on the school website. If you would like to join our Facebook Group, please see Moira Lyons Montgomery in the office. Our website has a parent's calendar with Hot Meals deadlines published. We regret that we cannot order meals that miss the deadline as Thornford will not provide meals after the date. We urge you to order before the deadline and we wish our children to enjoy the meals offered to them. Thank you for your co-operation and support on this matter.
